Defending state 800m champion Michael Haddan of Woodbridge gave it a good go...
... but it was Cabrillo's Duane Solomon that prevailed in the end!
California was seemingly falling behind the rest of the nation in recent years, but Solomon's 1:49.79 win and three others at sub-1:52 made it a great year in the Golden State!
